Meet Our Dentists Escondido, CA

Jorge Reyes, DDS

“I really enjoy getting to know my patients. I feel like this personal connection allows me to provide better care and a better experience. And as a dentist, that’s my ultimate goal — providing the highest standard of care and earning your trust.”

Originally from Texas, Dr. Reyes moved to sunny California in 2014 and has been practicing dentistry ever since. He graduated from the international program of La Salle Bajio School of Dentistry with honors and is a member of the ADA® and CDA.

Dr. Reyes is committed to providing the latest, most advanced dental treatments.

As a strong believer in community, Dr. Reyes enjoys giving back whenever possible. He often volunteers to provide dental treatment to veterans as well as to inmates in local prisons. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Reyes loves traveling, frequenting local restaurants, and hosting BBQs with friends and family.

Catalina Madrigal, DDS

“As my patient, you can expect a gentle and friendly experience. I want to be your partner in achieving a healthier and more beautiful smile.”

Dr. Madrigal has been practicing dentistry since 2014. She graduated first in her class from the international program of La Salle Bajio School of Dentistry in Guanajuato, Mexico, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She’s been published in the Journal of Clinical and Experimental Dentistry and other dental journals and is an active member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. She is eager to learn and completes over 100 hours of continuing education courses every year — four times what is required for dentists in California.

With a passion for helping others, Dr. Madrigal often volunteers in the local community and especially enjoys helping children with disabilities and veterans. Although relatively new to Escondido, she’s excited to continue exploring the area and find new ways to give back.

At the end of the day, you might find her spending time with family, exploring new restaurants, enjoying a delicious BBQ made by Dr. Reyes, or relaxing with a good movie or show.

Jonathan Winfield, DDS, FACP

Board-Certified Prosthodontist

Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics

Dr. Winfield is a board-certified surgical prosthodontist known for his expertise in full mouth rehabilitation and his deep commitment to service. Originally from the sun-soaked city of San Diego, California, he discovered his passion for science and helping others early in life — a path that ultimately led him to a fulfilling career in dentistry.

His academic journey began at the University of California, San Diego, where he earned his degree in Pharmacological Chemistry. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2019. Furthering his specialization, Dr. Winfield completed a rigorous three-year residency in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2022. That same year, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics — a recognition granted to those who demonstrate the highest level of skill and knowledge in the field.

With advanced training in digital, implant and surgical prosthodontics, Dr. Winfield focuses on life-changing full mouth reconstructions. To ensure patient comfort and safety, he also completed certification in IV conscious moderate sedation under the guidance of world-renowned anesthesiologist Dr. Stanley Malamed, Dr. Ken Reed and a team of board-certified dental anesthesiologists in Oregon. This allows him to perform all dental procedures under sedation for patients with dental anxiety or complex treatment needs.

But for Dr. Winfield, dentistry is about more than procedures — it’s about restoring lives. Many of his patients come to him with pain, embarrassment or a lack of confidence. Helping them rediscover their smiles — and their self-esteem — is what he finds most rewarding.

A Life of Service

Growing up in a low-income household without access to routine healthcare, Dr. Winfield developed a deep appreciation for service and the power of compassion. He has led and participated in numerous humanitarian dental missions through organizations such as 1000 Smiles and Flying Samaritans, bringing essential dental care to underserved communities around the world.

Recent trips have taken him to Jamaica (October 2024) as an attending faculty member and to the Philippines (January 2025). He remains committed to global outreach, with future missions scheduled in Mexico (April 2025), a return to Jamaica (October 2025) and another visit to the Philippines (January 2026). These experiences allow him not only to give back, but also to mentor the next generation of dental professionals.

Why I Chose Dentistry

“My journey into dentistry began with a passion for science and a calling to serve. A high school mission trip to Uganda opened my eyes to the critical need for healthcare in underserved regions. Later, during college, I volunteered on another trip to Ensenada, Mexico. Watching the dental team deliver immediate, meaningful relief while doing hands-on work inspired me in a way I’ll never forget. Dentistry offered the perfect blend of science, artistry, and impact — and I knew it was my path.”

Family and Background

Dr. Winfield comes from a tightly-knit family, including his grandmother, parents, two sisters, two nieces and a nephew. His parents, who didn’t finish high school, worked tirelessly to create better opportunities for their children. Today, both Dr. Winfield and his younger sister are first-generation college graduates and practicing dentists. His older sister is a professional in the beauty industry, while his parents now work in marketing.

“My family’s support has meant everything to me. We’re incredibly close and celebrate every holiday together. They’re my foundation, and I’m endlessly grateful for them.”

Outside the Office

When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. Winfield is likely chasing adventure. Whether he’s rock climbing, snowboarding, surfing, hiking or diving into the ocean depths, he thrives outdoors. His passion for travel has taken him to over 20 countries, including an extended stay in South America for six and a half months. He also speaks fluent Spanish, celebrates his Mexican heritage and enjoys live music, learning languages and even spinning fire poi in his spare time.

Dr. Winfield lives by the belief that life should be lived to the fullest — professionally, personally and with purpose.
