Natural Color Restorations

compositeThanks to advances in modern dental materials and techniques, Dr. Cutler has more ways to create pleasing, natural-looking smiles. These new materials have not eliminated the usefulness of more traditional dental materials but have been added to the repertoire.

There are no known health risks connected with white composite fillings. Composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. They are fillings that are colored to look like a natural tooth and are made of a plastic dental resin. Composite resin dental fillings are strong, durable, and make for a very natural looking smile. Unlike metal fillings, they will not expand and contract with temperature changes. Metal fillings tend to crack natural teeth over time, possibly necessitating the tooth be crowned.

Also, the composites are “bonded” or adhesively held in the cavity, often allowing her to make a more conservative repair to the tooth.

Dr. Cutler matches the composite filling with your natural tooth color for the most optimum esthetics. She contours them to match the exact shape of your tooth and many patients can not tell that they are even there.
